Pay: $13.00-$16.00 per hour, based on experience

Pool and Spa Express is a family-owned business that prides itself on its passion and expertise in pool services. We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join our team in Tullahoma, TN.

Seeking a motivated individual who wants to learn the swimming pool and spa trade. A service technician’s typical job duties consist of performing pool and spa service on 10-20 pools/spas per day.  Responsibilities include: opening pools, performing routine service (weekly, biweekly and monthly), brushing pools, emptying baskets, vacuuming pools, testing and balancing water, adding chemicals, closing pools, installing winter pool covers. 

Entry level candidates will start as an apprentice working side by side with an experienced technician.  More qualified, or trained, candidates will be eligible to use a company vehicle to perform services for customers pools and spas on an assigned route. 

Eligible candidates must:

• Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Have dependable transportation to and from work
• Be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (heat, rain, cold)
• Have the ability to lift 50-75 pounds
• Service 10-20 pools/spas per day focusing on quality over quantity
• Complete service calls in a timely manner
• Maintain and contribute to the good reputation of the company
• Possess the ability to communicate appropriately with customers while performing service
• Be reliable, dependable, honest and capable of working independently and with others
• Take pride in performing quality work and show willingness to learn and improve, where needed
• Have the capacity to work with the pool service App required to perform duties;  use route mapping while driving, log arrival & departure times, take photos and accurately log work performed and chemicals used for billing purposes
• Maintain a clean and safe service vehicle as well as a clean driving record
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Work Schedule: Flex Schedule: 3-5 hours per day/5-6 days a week on Mondays-Saturdays. 

Store Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm

Responsibilities

• Perform water balance testing for customers
• Make recommendations to customers based on their needs
• Help customers with purchases and carry items to their cars
• Maintain and contribute to the good reputation of the company
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately, efficiently and honestly
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Maintain cleanliness of the store (dust, vacuum, mop, trash)
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

 As needed, may be asked to help

• Answer phones and provide customer support
• Ensure all shelves are stocked and organized

Requirements

• Experience with swimming pools and knowledge of pool chemistry is preferred but not required
• Experience in inventory management is a plus
• Proficient in phone etiquette and taking messages 
• Comfortable interacting with customers 
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs needed to perform responsibilities

Nice-to-haves

• Previous retail sales experience
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures

The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales, particularly in a pool or home improvement environment, and will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting customers with their purchases. A solid understanding of swimming pools, spas and water chemistry is ideal, but not required. Applicants with no experience and willing to learn will be trained.
